JUNE 2015: THE GARDEN CLUB CRACK PRECISION GARDEN TOOL DRILL SQUAD marched away with the Grand Prize in Carlisle's 2015 Old Home Day Grand Parade on June 27. Wielding our new banner, our well-used garden tools, a wheelbarrow of flowers and treats, and a rhythm section that beat their trowels on galvanized watering cans, the troupe of 16 steadfast marchers included teenage members of the Harring and Gladstone families, as well as the four-year old grandson of former Garden Club president and ever-stalwart Alison Saylor. Unedited video at left captures our "dress rehearsal" in the school parking lot and a few frantic moments from the parade.
Patricia Koenitzer proudly holds our prize ribbon and trophy.
