Seed, Gardening, and Environmental Education Event

Hundreds of free vegetable, flower, and perennial seeds, free demonstrations, and free advice from experts.
Learn how to start seeds, nurture an environmentally-friendly yard, and attract winged
creatures such as birds and butterflies to your garden.
The event will also feature a Pot Luck Dinner, Houseplant Swap, Pruning Demonstration, and other events.
Kid-friendly activities too!

Date: Saturday March 29th (snow date Sunday March 30th) from 3 to 5 p.m.
Where: First Religious Society, Union Hall, 27 School Street, Carlisle

Pot Luck
Starts at 5:30 till 7:00. All are invited to attend.
Parking is available at the Carlisle Public School.
Bring a dish of your choice to share. Should feed 8-10 people.
If leaving food in kitchen, make sure it is clearly labeled with your name.
You can bring beverages including beer or wine, but not other types of alcohol.

Friends of Center Park Pruning Demo
From 1 to 3 pm
The public is invited to the Twiggy Workshop and pruning demo at Center Park.
Arborist John Althouse and other Massachusetts Master Gardeners
will demonstrate optimal pruning methods for different shrubs and small ornamental trees.
There will then be an opportunity to make whimsical art and trellises using cuttings from Center Park plants.
All ages welcome.

Friends of the Gleason Public Library (FoGPL) Houseplant Cutting Swap
Bring your rooted plants to the houseplant swap.
The only “rules” are: no more than 6 cuttings from a single plant type per household and all
cuttings must be labelled, have started roots, and be in pots.
Start rooting them now, so they’ll be ready for March 29th!
Feel free to bring more than one type of houseplant.
The FoGPL table will also include a selection of gardening and gardening-related cookbooks FREE to anyone who wants them.
