Spring ephemerals and late-season native plants help support the pollinators in the shoulder seasons when their food is scarcer. Plant these native species generously and allow them to colonize.

Spring Ephemerals
Speaker: Joan Butler
Description: Early-blooming native woodland wildflowers such as bloodroot, Jeffersonia, hepatica or primula are the stars of the early spring garden, but may be unfamiliar to many gardeners. Learn about their habitats, ideal growing conditions and unique adaptations.

OUTREACH: Seed Swap & Share
Will join annual community-wide sustainability festival with educational/environmental topics, in collaboration with the Environmental Action Committee of FRS and other town organizations.

Description: Member social with optional appetizer/ dessert potluck following Debbie Wright annual scholarship award. Final business meeting with preview of the coming year.

Description: The tour that defines what country gardens can be! Plan to stop by the plant sale on the Common to check out some native plants for your landscape or garden.

Welcome Back! Members' Harvest Potluck
Description: A fall tradition resumes. The business meeting features a look at the year ahead.

Description: A special invitation for club members and community to share harvest traditions and preserves with an outstanding local garden. FREE. Garden club invited Friday, Carlisle residents Saturday.

Description: The Club joins the First Religious Society (FRS) for a celebration of the harvest season.

Description: Assemble bows and picks to prepare for our annual COA wreath-making workshop. A fun night of socializing and learning how to make bows and baubles.

OUTREACH: Holiday Wreath-Making
Joint program with Council on Aging (COA)
Description: The Garden Club will prep wreath bows and create wreaths or swags for public buildings.

Holiday Party for Members and Guests
Description: Gala holiday potluck dinner for Club members and their spouses/partners.

Description: Club members will discuss "The Hidden Life of Trees" by Peter Wohlleben -- one of the first books to explore what is now known as the "wood-wide web."
