Children's Educational Outreach
On Sunday, March 24, the Carlisle Garden Club was delighted to engage with 18 children at the First Religious Society in Carlisle. Forty+ packets of seeds were distributed to the children as part of the Club’s Educational Outreach Program.
Some seeds will be planted in the church garden; the remainder will go into the children's home gardens.
It was so gratifying to see how excited the children were with their seed packets. Selecting the ones they wanted made it even more special. The children were encouraged to ask questions, which resulted in nearly every hand being raised. They learned planting schedules for New England, how deep to plant seeds and to care for newly-emerged seedlings, and much more.
We look forward to following these future growers throughout their journey.
We thank our generous sponsors for their donations; without them, we could not possibly create programs like these.
